Cyberattack on US T-Mobile

T-Mobile US has again been hit with a cyberattack notwithstanding concurring only months prior to burn through $500 million on information security

and customer remediation efforts that came off the back of what one analyst called “the largest carrier breach on record.”

The carrier noted in an explanation late Thursday that it was "currently illuminating influenced clients that after a careful examination we have discovered that a troublemaker utilized

a single [API] to obtain limited types of information on their accounts.”

"While no data was acquired for affected customer that would think twice about security of client records or funds, we need to be straightforward with our customer and guarantee they know," the carrier added.

37 million current postpaid and prepaid customer accounts has been impacted the carrier said on end of november.  

T-Mobile US explained that the attackers have been able to access  only the base information of customers.

Attackers have been gained accessed like names, billing addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, account numbers, and information such as the number of lines on an account and service plan features.

T-Mobile US spoke person has been told they are investing more on cybersecurity to strengthen cybersecurity for the customer.
