Versa did FIPS Cert to Support Gov’t Networks

Versa  reported it accomplished FIPS 140-2 accreditation for its Versa Operating System (VOS) ), the foundation of its SD-WAN and secure access service edge (SASE) products

It support encryption of data within communication protocols like IPsec, transport layer security (TLS), and secure shell (SSH).

What Is FIPS?

FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) has been created by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) Computer Security Division, FIPS establishes a data security

and computer system standard that organizations must adhere to per the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002.

The interaction for the FIPS 140-2 certificate begins with the choice of a confirmation lab licensed by NIST to play out the "thorough testing" required for the certificate

The confirmation is a two-step process, where the cryptographic calculations are ensured as a feature of the initial step, and the cryptographic tasks of the module are tried during the subsequent step.

Versa has been able to meet FIPS requirements and engage in advanced security discussions with various federal and state government agencies   after this FIPS certification.
